When I was 42 I was happy and content for I had accomplished most of the things a
man of that age could. Life was good and simple, and I was in control of it. One
Sunday when I was 42, my older son asked me why people die. I was reading my
papers at the time so I didn't want to make it a lengthy answer so I replied that
people had to die so him and his younger brother would have enough space to grow
up and live. He seemed satisfied with that answer and he went back to his room to
play. I went back to reading papers thinking how well I explained such a delicate
matter to a 7 years old boy. Next morning I went into the boys room to wake them
up for school, my older son's bed was empty, window was open. We lived on the 5th
floor...... I am 63 today and I live on the ground floor, my only son comes to
visit often. He has kids of his own, they ask lots of questions as kids usually
do. I am happy again, I have time to do things I have always wanted to do, and
shops are close so I don't have to walk far for my groceries. Life seems simple.
Just don't let kids know.......
