PRAY - BLASPHEMY/version
We are the purest of unbelievers
for we believe in nothing
Profanest of blasphemers
Angels of Lucifer - The light bringer
The morning star.
To those of you who pray in vain
And shun this world in hopes of future bliss
Who search for long forgotten truths
In arcane law and rotten myths
Who crave assumption to the lord
To float forever
pure and bored
everlastingly in paradise
Endlessly enraptured on the other side...
We'll teach you ways that you can pray
And means to waste the hour away
When no help comes
And no-one heeds your Cry
No angels cornered by your bed
No holy wine no sacred bread
Nowhere to lay your weary head
You wonder why ?
In prayer we hope that we may find
contentment in an anodyne
We lull and fool ourselves to sleep
And calm the torrents of old grief
that linger longer - like a thief
No tears can wash your sins away
Not ten hail marys everyday
And all the meek and all the proud
Move themselves to pray out loud -
Oh save! Enslave us! Feeble people!
Neath edifice and soaring steeple
From shadows deep we call to you
All of a will all of a hue
we wait for you to come at last
and save us from our woeful past
Cleave us to you if you care
we who kneel to you in prayer
And subjugate our will to thee to seal our fate
We wait! We wait!
we offer in its place and of a kind
a prayer that ends in your own rhyme
a spell to caste for your own time
- Poetic Madness!
Confined within your bony bin
Beneath the guilt and sense of sin
Is all the future, all the past
And means to make the present last
A composition which in form
Can conjure words though old and worn
From dross and basest rhyme cajole
Within the crucible of wit
A fulminate against the Pit
And parodoxical infer
The lie within the truth confer
In meaning and in resonance
To make you think to make you dance
At once the captive of our fate
Our destiny we arbitrate
Beyond this fiery moment there is nothing
So free us, wrest us from your breast
It is our will our true behest
And leave us to it! -
Let us know our own sad heavens
Our own sweet hells
To own our souls
Our own sweet selves
We are the purest of unbelievers
Profanest of blasphemers-
For we believe in Nothing!
