limits. Music as language, with specific 'grammer', the need to
communicate.
- wanting to make music as effective as that of ones idols?
- Blending and juxtapostion of the familiar to produce something
totally new, is in itself an identifiable creative act.
- It's actually quite good fun to do, and to listen to, whether you spot reference or not, and works.
- Perhaps it is pointless to try to achieve a subtlety or nuance
of emotion or effect, in a completely new way, when a previous
method was so totally successful?
- The self is just a series of internal and external references
and thus total originality is a logical impossibilty.
