24 Absences is a mini fold out series of photographs
taken during the process of changing a blown up newspaper
image by drawing on it with charcoal and chalk. As one of
several similar works which are part of an ongoing project,
this project was recorded on super8 film as rough animations
in July 1999. The original photograph showed a survivor
inspecting the remains of her home, south of Belgrade after
a Nato attack in which 24 civilians died. It was taken from
the front cover of the Independent newspaper on 10.4.99
