The two main influences on my work are cubism and film noir. Picasso and the cubists gave us a new way to look, while the noir directors gave us something to look at. I love the deconstruction of the cubists and the way the noir filmmakers used light and shadow to construct truelly memorable images. In my lino cuts, paper cuts, drawings, paintings, computer illustration and mail art I try to use these influences to create my own style of graphic noir. weef@lineone.net
