The artwork's title is "King Canute and the Sea Handle with Care" Canute tried to order the tide to reteat at Bosham? My present artworks incorporate images of places and objects of the South East's past and present that raise questions concerning consumerism, landscape and English identity. My paintings are textural and use the techniques oils, photocopied images, sand, gold leaf, chalk on canvas. They are rich in tradition styles and experimental paint processes and incorporate a sense of irony and surprise.
