Information & Links

25 year old Londoner Rachel Abrams first exhibited her photographs in 1993, as a runner up in the Time Out Travel Photographer of the Year competition.

Previously, she's researched for Time Magazine and written for The Economist, BBC Online News and for the old online current affairs 'zine, Fix.

More recently, she has done press work for The Media Trust, The Daily Express and a series of portraiture commissions. She has also published funky images from London's Essential music festival for online magazines, FashionUK and Londonwide.

She's also been doing research for an archive collection of 19th Century Indian photographs and helping out fresh and funky London web designers,Widemedia, working on sites for Buffalo Boots, Genesis Books, Barwell Travel and the Royal Geographical Society.

The Surface exhibition/online project was originally conceived over a couple of months late in 1997 as a way of kick-starting Rachel's web skills (finally!) and to provide a focus for some of the artwork she has produced in the eighteen months, in London and elsewhere.

She'd like to spend a while working in New York one day and meantime, Rachel's still dabbling with this photography/web-design stuff, and any other creative projects she can get her hands on.
