'ideal space' is run and curated by Paul Gray. The web site is designed by Charles Kriel.
Ideal space' is a contemporary art exhibiting location. The London based gallery that is the physical half of ideal space is in actual fact a scale model of an imaginary 'ideal' exhibiting location. Through phtographic and video documentation the space appears 10 metres x 10 m x 3 m.
The exhibition ('ideal space 1') consisted of site specific installations by Darren Almond, Beth Derbyshire and Gary Perkins. These video and sculptural works explored and associated elements of natural/ physical forces with a focus on science fiction and science fact. The resulting interpretations of scale and time produce familiar, dream-like oddities.
The exhibition will ran from 26th June - 27th July 1996. Exhibitions in the gallery are renewed monthly.
