EXPLODING CINEMA
A popular, well established, non-profit making collective which many of the film makers belong to. It has survived in London for nine years solely from its takings on the door. They hold regular non curated screenings at venues around the capital and a phone call can pretty much get your film a screening. Their collective is open to new members but you have to be prepared to do work at their shows.

OMSK
A film and performance club operating out of London, founded by Steven Eastwood. It has a large dedicated following and makes every effort to challenge sedative screening experiences. They are very into reinvention and if you find any event with the letters OMSK in it - you can pretty much guess it'll be them. They are also open to contributions for their shows.
VOLCANO
The only non-funded film festival running in London. It pulls together all the fringe film clubs across the capital and they fund the event. Volcano has had some resounding successes and some low points - last year was exclusively advertised on the net - which didn't pull in much of a crowd. Volcano pretty much follows its namesake - really unpredictable and noisy when it goes off...
BACKSPACE
A cyber organisation headed up by the infamous James Stevens. He is currently without a venue and now operates from the capital at no fixed address. His Tuesday webcasts of short films from the London circuit have yet to take off - 7 - 10pm GMT on rad.spc.org... All the Maldoror Cockatoos would like to thank James for letting us keep our website on the backspace server and Harl for setting up the account for us.
VACUUM
Now quite dated, this video compilation has been around for years. It is still one of the best samplers of the London underground scene and sells very cheaply at £10 for 2hr show.
