Review of past "Dialogues"

ENTER INTO A DIALOGUE
CROSS INTERNATIONAL, ARTISTIC, CULTURAL, SOCIAL BORDERS

One of the most important areas of work at the Manege St.Peterburg, Russia
is the organization of international exhibitions. Two major international
projects are the biannual Dialogues and the International Festival of
Experimental Art and Performance.
The international exhibition of modern art Dialogues has been held by the
Manege since 1993. The show’s geographic coverage is very wide: the
Dialogues have featured works of artists from Austria, Belgium, Belorussia,
China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel,
Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Latvia, Mongolia, the Netherlands,
Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Switzerland, the U.K., Ukraine and the
U.S.

"Dialogues" 2003 will be celebrate the 300-years anniversary of the city of Saint Petersburg. Participation of artists of the various countries in an exhibition assumes participation in celebrating this outstanding event.
The structure of the exhibition is multifaceted: from personal shows of
individual artists to large group projects.
The original concept of dialogues between artists of different countries has
evolved into more global dialogues:
- between national schools
- between artistic trends
- between traditional and ultra-modern, 21st-century art forms.
