Spider & Mouse Gallery is pleased to present London- based artist, Francesca and Natalia Osipova, artist who lives and works in Moscow.

Francesca finds in domesticity a rich field of inspiration for her mixed-media work. The flotsam and jetsam that accumulates in her home, like boxes, letters, notes from the optician, discarded Polaroids are the starting point of a visual elaboration that goes from the very private to the social. Even the formulaic processing of embroidery or jam making is reinvented so that it acquires a vaster cultural resonance.

Natalia Osipova finds the material for her flour baked visual poetry not far from domestic life too. The ideograms of her bread-objects consist of small metal items such as nails, hooks so etc., which have experienced of wind, rain and earth. «Man does not live bread alone» - one of the possible translation, but it’s impossible to retell these letters in other words.
