Last July Ekaterina Likova passed away. She was 21. Though short-lived
she managed to achieve a lot. Her legacy is a collection of talented poetry,
texts, rolls of film, words not spoken and imagery suspended in the
air.
On August 20, 2002 at 19:00 Spider&Mouse Gallery will host a photographic exhibition of Ekaterina Likova and will present the first supplement to the anthology "Nereguliarnii Park" ("Irregular park") also featuring Ekaterina's work.
It happened so
that this supplement is being published prior to the publication of the first
issue of the anthology, as we originally planned.
Moreover, despite the whole concept of the anthology V, a non-periodical publication
on art projects, this book mainly consists of poetry and is dedicated to the
one and only author.
A selection of
work, featured in this compilation is in many ways accidental. Simply, what
we managed to collect and to compile: notebooks, diaries, floppy discs, and
photographs. It is the unfinished nature of this book that makes it so liberated,
delicate and wild, just the way Katya was.
