ARTSITe Gillian McIver video and installation art My work investigates the nuances of moments in the grand narrative,
through the use of very slow motion, close-ups and layering of images.
Capturing the frame-by-frame moment when images melt into one another
emphasizes the symbiotic relationship between the digital image
and fractions in time. I explore abstract and exploratory scenery
of real places as motifs to create a hyper-real space existing in
an imaginary timeframe reminiscent of memory. Using environmental
loops, non-linear narratives, and slow-motion images as patterns,
I create meditative environments which suggest the expansion of
space, and cyclical drifts of time.
