I have always been intrigued by old, unwanted and handmade garments. My interests lie in the Humannness embeded into a garment and its construction. In my work, to cut up and re-invent a new form from an old garment reflects human change. I use the process of Tapestry Weave, which decreases the scale of the original garment. There is also an element of unpredictability. These aspects are important to the work. I am developing a series of works exploring odd combinations of garments, which reflect upon the intimacy of underwear and the obscurity within fairy tales. press cutting
