just about everything i make has some connection with clothing. i use visual language from dress which draws on ideas of performative gender to subvert various forms of authority. word play and visual punning are often integrated into the work as implicit or concrete titles. i'm a member of Artworx, a group of artists in the s.w. who take on disused premises and stage exhibitions that challenge the traditional perception of art in this region. i also work for various clients as a stylist using my own wearable artefacts, the aim being to disrupt the generally limited and predictable presentation of fashion in the media. for more information please phone 01326 211206.
